We're building our first HR system in monday.com to manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing employee data. Need to track: personal info, start date, department, equipment needs, training completion, and performance reviews. What's the best structure? How do you handle sensitive data securely?

Three-board HR system: 1) Employee Directory (all current employees with personal columns - use 'Confidential' column type for sensitive data), 2) Onboarding Tracker (new hires with timeline automations: Day 1 → Create IT ticket, Day 7 → Check-in, Day 30 → Review), 3) Offboarding Checklist (reverse the process). Key automations: When 'Start Date' arrives → Notify manager and IT. Use the 'Personal' column type for PII - it encrypts data. Never store SSN or bank details in monday - use dedicated HRIS for that.

Add a 'Training' board linked to employees. Track required certifications with due dates and automate reminders. Use the 'World Map' widget for distributed teams. Pro tip: create onboarding templates for different roles - engineering vs sales have different equipment needs.
