We need to plan team capacity and avoid overloading team members. I've heard about the Workload view in monday.com. How do you set it up? Can it show capacity based on hours or task count? How accurate is it for resource planning?

The Workload view is essential for capacity planning. Setup: 1) Add 'Workload' column to your board. 2) Set capacity for each person in the Workload settings (default is 8 hours/day but can be customized). 3) The view shows each person's allocated hours vs. capacity. Key features: you can toggle between 'Hours' and 'Task count' views. For accurate planning: 1) Ensure all tasks have estimated hours in the 'Numbers' column. 2) Link the estimated hours to the Workload column. 3) Use the 'Capacity alerts' automation to notify when someone exceeds 100% capacity. One limitation: Workload only shows data from the current board. For company-wide capacity, create a 'Resource Dashboard' board that mirrors workload data from all project boards using the Mirror column.

We found the Workload view most useful for identifying imbalances, not precise planning. Set it to show 2-week views to see upcoming capacity. The color coding (green/yellow/red) makes it easy to spot overloaded team members. For better accuracy, require estimated hours on all tasks before they can be assigned - we made it a required field via board permissions.
